Opening Reception: Jan 6, 6-11
Gallery hours: Wednesday - Sunday 12-6

Vox Populi Gallery will be presenting Yes To Burning Eyes as part of its Guest Artist Program. This exhibition by Guy Ben-Ari will include a new group of paintings and drawings from the past year.

The works in the exhibition surround the narrative of a famous case study by Freud, best known for the call "Fater, ich mein ich van verdern?" (Father, can't you see I'm burning?). Related to a sense of guilt by a negligent parent, the case study is used to demonstrate the nature of the connection between the conscious and the unconscious.  The paintings in Yes to Burning Eyes refer to the function of the big Other and its gaze (or lack of) and its different implications. This exhibition is supported by Artis - Contemporary Israeli Art Fund.
